When it rains, it pours. (26/11)

This daily writing thing is something I have attempted before, to which my good friend J.R. Vikse will attest. Previously, I was not very good at it, to which my good friend H.A. Barr will attest. I am now here, to proclaim that THIS time is different! Yes! Stop saying nay, you post-millennial cynics! The leopard can change his spots! He’s just never really WANTED to. He is not a fan of stripes, whatsoever.

I am a fan of writing everyday, and so I have continued to do so. Pretty snazzy, huh?

But the strange thing is, once you get into the habit of it, should an idea for something strike you, your brain just slips right into gear and the writing commences once again. As part of my daily travels, I’ve managed to bash out a story breakdown for another project, and even solve a couple of narrative dead ends that have been bothering me. Sure, part of this was the problem bubbling away at the back of my mind for some time, but the ability to grasp the solution, and slap it into word form quickly? That’s new. And nifty!

But having basked in the glory of a brain with a smooth gearbox, on reflection I’m guessing that this is like any routine activity – the more you do it, the better primed you are in general for it. Runners aren’t born with teh physical stamina, but once they have it, buses and trains are rarely out of reach for them – so too with the more mental exercises.

Hey, I bet if I attempted to do maths often enough, my brain would start to see numbers as acrobatic friends, and not spiky symbols of ruin. HA!

End of Day Word Count: 33,475. (And a brain buzzing for the next project!)
